Ways to Be A Hero In Our Community

Everyday Small Acts of Kindness

  • Hold the door open for someone.
  • Compliment a stranger genuinely (“Hey, love your shoes!”).
  • Send a text to a friend or family member just to say you appreciate them.
  • Let someone go ahead of you in line if they seem rushed or have fewer items.
  • Pay for someone’s coffee or meal behind you in line.
  • Write a kind note and leave it in a library book or public place.
  • Leave a generous tip if you’re able to.
  • Smile—seriously, it’s underrated.
  • Pick up litter even if it’s not yours.
  • Thank someone (like a bus driver, janitor, or delivery person) for their work.

Digital Kindness

  • Leave a positive review for a small business you love.
  • Comment something encouraging on someone’s post.
  • Share someone’s creative work to help spread the love.

At Home or Work

  • Bring in snacks or coffee for your coworkers.
  • Do a chore someone else usually does without saying anything.
  • Write a sticky note with a compliment and leave it where they’ll see it.
